ManagementDNA2.0 management bring industrial experience in the fields of molecular biology, bioinformatics, technology development, core facility management, research leadership and product sales from biotechnology companies including Amersham, Affymax, Eragen, Kosan and Maxygen. Our academic research experience comes from institutions including the University of California at Davis, San Francisco and Santa Cruz, University of Cambridge (UK), University of Umeå (Sweden), IIT Bombay (India) and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Jeremy Minshull, Ph.D. PresidentDr. Minshull has served as President since cofounding DNA2.0. Prior to founding DNA2.0, Dr. Minshull was Vice President of Core Technology at Maxygen where he was responsible for developing new technologies and scientific infrastructure to support directed evolution projects in chemical, agricultural and human therapeutic areas. Before Maxygen, Dr Minshull helped to develop and apply DNA shuffling at Affymax, joining Maxygen at its founding. Dr. Minshull was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California San Francisco, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge where he studied basic control of the eukaryotic cell cycle with Nobel laureate Dr. Tim Hunt. Claes Gustafsson, Ph.D. Vice President of Sales and MarketingDr. Gustafsson is a cofounder and has served as DNA2.0's VP of Sales and Marketing since its inception. Before founding DNA2.0, Dr. Gustafsson headed the Bioinformatics group at Maxygen and was project leader for metabolic engineering of natural product synthesis. Prior to this, Dr. Gustafsson was one of the first employees at Kosan Biosciences, developing technology for manipulating Streptomyces polyketide production. Dr. Gustafsson was a post-doctoral fellow at UCSF and UCSC and received his Ph.D. in Umeå, Sweden and is a co-author of one of the first publications applying nonlinear systems optimization to biopolymers. Jon Ness, Ph.D. Vice President of Research and DevelopmentDr. Ness is a cofounder of DNA2.0 and has served as its VP of Research and Development since its inception. Dr. Ness was one of the first employees at Maxygen, most recently leading Maxygen's DNA Shuffling Technology Development Group. Dr. Ness also served as project leader for Maxygen's collaborative partnership with Novozymes focused on improving industrial enzymes, including the laundry detergent protease subtilisin. As a post-doctoral fellow at Affymax, Dr. Ness laid the groundwork for in vivo recombination and whole genome shuffling in microorganisms. Dr. Ness received his Ph.D. in bacterial genetics and physiology from the University of California, Davis. Sridhar Govindarajan, Ph.D. Vice President of InformaticsDr. Govindarajan is a cofounder and VP of Informatics at DNA2.0. Dr. Govindarajan has over 15 years of scientific computing experience and leads the DNA2.0 automation and protein engineering efforts. Prior to DNA2.0 Dr. Govindarajan led the computational research at Maxygen in optimizing directed evolution technologies. Dr Govindarajan has also held the position of systems architect at EraGen Biosciences. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and holds an undergraduate degree from IIT Bombay, India. |
